Hubco Letterpress Printing

At Hubco, we use letterpress print technology in order to provide the industry standard for printing quality. Depending on the type of bag, we can offer printing in up to four solid PMS Uncoated colors. The size of the print should not be smaller than 10-12 point font for most bags. The best fonts for letterpress printing are "block style”.

Printing plates are an additional one-time charge for your project. Rubber plates are created and placed on steel cylinders called "rollers”. Ink is applied to the rollers and then transferred on to the fabric. It is important to have the largest fonts and lines possible in order to create a "readable” image over the life of the printing plates.

 The size of the image on the bag can vary depending on the project. Most bags need at least .5-1” margin on each side of the bag. Please account for the closure method at the top of your bag to determine how far down the image should start printing. For example, the closing of the bag via a drawstring will "scrunch” the top part of the bag. Most customers will want to move the image down a bit in order to account for the drawstring closure.

 Please provide "camera-ready” vector artwork as soon as possible in order to create custom printing plates. Adobe "ai”, "pdf”, and "eps” files work the best.
